Windows 10: Second monitor not detected but working however zoomed and it's killing me

I just set up dual monitors on my Dell desktop running Windows 10. There was only one HDMI port so I purchased an HDMI to USB adapter. Both monitors power up and I have the same background photo and taskbars on both monitors but the second monitor is zoomed in so everything is gigantic. When I go in to detect the monitors it states another display is not found. However, if I identify the monitors it shows the number one on one screen and two on the other. The displays are extended. If I try to change the resolution on the second monitor it changes it on both monitors. I verified the graphics d

Windows 11 cannot detect my second monitor. Help. I did all the suggested troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to work.

Since the issue occurred after the latest update, it's possible that the video or monitor drivers require an update. Try looking for the updated version of the drivers on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If the issue persists, try to roll back the drivers to the last good configuration. To do that, you may follow these steps:

• Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
• Right-click your device driver, select Properties, and browse to the
  Driver tab.
• Press the Roll Back Driver option if available, and Windows 10 will begin the process.
