Windows 10: Second Monitor on a R7 240 Video Card

Hi All

If I was to invest in a Second Monitor, would it work ok with current graphics card I have, AMD Radeon R7 240, or should I wait on adding a second monitor til I get my Rx 470 or 570 graphics card in the way future (money wise not gonna have enough for a while on that aspect). Monitor wanted to use is 1280x1024, think DVI-D and VGA options on it,

Second Monitor would be used for Streaming Shows, and that aspect of things if worked well, though I may wait and just get another wide screen 20-23 inch in the future, and a different desk so I can have both monitors on one desk

second video card driver being both installed and not.

I'm trying to help my mother to add a third monitor to her three monitor setup, and I'm running into confusing details. I couldn't get more than two monitors to run off her old video card, so I added a second new video card. In Settings>System>display,
it is seeing a third monitor, but all the layout options are blank. And more importantly, when open device manager, it sees both graphics cards, with none of the error markings, but when I open the new card, the General tab says there's no driver installed,
while the driver tab says the most recent driver is installed.

As for the cards, the one my mother's system's had for a while (Which is still working fine) is a radeon r7 240 series, the new card is a radeon hd 6700 series

 

Upgrading to Windows 10 and the motherboard's video stopped working

Thanks for the reply; it's an HP pavilion. Running Windows 8.1, there are two video adaptors - Radeon AMD 8570D and Radeon R7 240. The R7 240 is the built-in one. Running Windows 10 I saw two drivers - Radeon AMD 8570 and Radeon AMD 8570 dual. The R7 240
wasn't there.

There should be 3 connectors at the back, VGA, DVI, HDMI so you can use up to 3 monitors providing they have some of those connections.

 

Just keep your eye on the card temp, the more monitors you add the harder the card has to work.
