Windows 10: Second RAM slot showing empty after repairs at a Lenovo centre.

I had my 8 GB RAM Lenovo laptop repaired some 2 months ago, as it was not starting and showed error. When I recieved the laptop, the repairer said that the laptop will work slow as I had hdd not SSD. He recommended us to buy one, but we didn't.While using the laptop, I felt that it was much slower than before, but thought that he might've done something so it doesn't crash.Today, 27/7/24, I checked the memory tab within Task Manager, and saw that there was only 4GB memory. It showed that only 1 of the 2 slots had a 4GB RAM stick and the other one was empty. Did the repair guy take the RAM stic

Greetings my friend. Like 'Mike P', my dell has only two slots as well. There are several laptops that have four (4) ram slots. Lenovo, ASUS, some HP's and some dell's. I would suggest going to a website like newegg.com, or other computer accessory place,
and looking at their memory/ram selections. Reading their details should provide some insight as to the number of slots.

Of course, if your budget allows, the more ram you have, the better the laptop will be.

I tried to do a test to see if it could be fixed so I made a new partition on the drive and installed fresh windows to fix this problem but when I looked at task manager it is still showing that it has 8 slots of RAM. so what is going wrong here
