  2. Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

BitLocker cannot encrypt secondary fixed drive

So it seems when I was performing the restoration procedure, the secondary drive partition got marked as active. Looks like Windows does not like other active partitions that weren't used to boot the OS, and won't treat them as "fixed data drives".

After marking the secondary drive partition as inactive (with diskpart) and a restart, Windows/BitLocker finally acknowledges the secondary drive and can commence with encryption.

Secondary drive marked as System + Black screen

    Hello thanks for the response,

I made backup(image) of C drive with Macrium. Strange thing, when I tried to make a backup also windows icon was on the D drive. I'm not sure if making only C(system) backup was good option. Or should I check C and D

But the rest of the screenshot are here because it double posted and I tried delete it but there's no option for me even with WYSIWYG advanced post edit option.

The worst scenario that I'm worried is that I'll make those steps and my original system image wont restore. I have now a lot of stuff to do on my PC and I don't want to make myself problems.

  10. Why is a separate partition marked as active instead of the boot drive

    in Windows 10 Support
Why is a separate partition marked as active instead of the boot drive: I have two storage devices in my PC. One is a 128GB SSD which is used as the System disk (where I installed my OS) and the other is a 1 TB HDD which is used for keeping my usual files, docs, movies etc. As I have mentioned, Windows 10 is installed in the SSD, I never...
