  1. "Secure Variable Update is locked down"

I've tried enabling "Secure Boot" in the bios as Valorant is now asking for it. When I get into the Bios, I disable CSM Support, I go into the Secure Boot menu and enable Secure Boot. But it says "Not Active" so the solution Ive found to the problem is changing the secure boot mode from "Standard" to "Custom" and then changing it back to "Standard". A message appears telling me to Install Factory Default Keys, I accept but then I get the message "Secure Variable Update is locked down" and to "Try again after a system reboot" Ive tried resetting the PC multiple times but the message keeps appea

I have been trying those steps since I had the problem without success. (see below).

    Resolution

To reset the Surface Pro to the default UEFI settings, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Power button and the Volume Up button at same time while you are starting the Surface Pro device.
    2. Set Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to enabled.
    3. Set Secure Boot Control to enabled.
    4. Press Install Default Secure Boot keys.
    5. Press Exit setup, and then save the changes.
We need a better solution e.g.: a diagnostic tool or a repair tool.

    Than you for your time.

    regards.

no longer able to set User's environment variables in control panel

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

From the description provided, I understand that you are not able to work on the Environment Variables in Windows 10 after the latest update to build 10586.3.

The path to access the Environment variables in Windows would be:

Control panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced -> Environment variables.

However, if the above is still in place, but however, you still face functionality issue, I would suggest you to rollback to the previous build and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Click on Start and select Settings and then choose Update & security.
    • Then click on ‘Recovery Options’.
    • Click on the ‘Get started’ button in the ‘Go back to a previous build of Windows’ option to start the recovery process.
Hope the above information is helpful. If you need further information, feel free to write t us and we would be happy to help you.

    Thank you.
