Windows 10: SECURITY ALERT message from Microsoft

Today upon trying to access my email the screen was different. Then a message appeared saying Microsoft locked the computer bc it was compromised ... something about accessing pornographic sight. Then a ladies voice came across and said not to shut down the computer and to call the Microsoft phone number appearing on the screen. I called the number and after a back-n-forth with the person on the other end, he said his business name was Geek Services. He said I had no protection and if I didn’t pay for security my computer would no longer be accessible. Can someone please enlighten me? I paid him $249.99 for 3 years of protection.

  When you say ‘’cannot find how to set text message alert sounds’’ are you referring to setup a particular sound/alert for the message or there is no sound alert at all when you received the message?
  

I also like to inform you that, you cannot setup a different alert sound except the inbuilt sound alert. If you refer to setting up your choice sound alert, I suggest you to provide your valuable suggestion and feedback using feedback app.

Gmail "Critical security alert" message, hacking attempt blocked (long post)

your likkely not going to , so, just deal with your end, and thats about it. Google doesnt log failed log in attempts, so there is no record of it, other than the message. its security worked, just take the steps and your done.

Just to confirm, is this the same thing that you tried on your phone, in order to turn off Amber Alerts?

• Open Settings.
• Tap on System.
• Tap on Messaging.
• Tap on the Change emergency alert settings link.
• Turn on or off the emergency alerts you want.

Let us know if this was the same thing that you tried.

We would also suggest to reset your phone after doing these steps to ensure that the changes on your phone's settings will be refreshed.
