  1. Security break in my microsoft account

One of the laptops I had added in my account was stolen some time ago. From time to time I tried to locate it with the tracking location tool, but it never was located. I guess the thief never conected it to the web. But two months ago the laptop disappeared from my account. Probably the thief found a way to access my account and erase it so that I can't track it anymore and be free to use it.

How can this happen if a password has to be sent to my phone to log in my account?

Is it possible to restore the device in my account?

    Any help welcome.

    Thank you

Microsoft account security code - WHY?

    Thanks for the reply Greg.

"If you turn on two-step verification, you’ll get a security code to your email, phone, or authenticator app every time you sign in on
a device that isn't trusted. When two-step verification is turned off, you will only have to verify your identity with security codes periodically, when
there might be a risk to your account security."

    Overkill.

As Two-Step verification has never been turned on, I presume MS thinks every time I log into access pages on https://account.microsoft.com/ pages I'm a risk to my account. Even from computers listed in the 'Devices" tab of those pages. Even though I have
to supply my MS password to get to those pages.

Are you suggesting I turn two-step verification on, which is what I don't need?

Security break in my microsoft account

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security

After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.
