  1. Security bug found with booting up Windows 10

It may not be that big of a deal but I found a bug when booting up windows. I'm running 22H2 OS Build 19045.2130. When I booted up my PC that stupid pop-up came about enabling Cortana and using Edge and so on. When I clicked "Later" it unlocked my PC without my pin, which is just a bit of a vulnerability. Again, it is not a big deal in my case, but for others, it may be.Edit: I wanted to add, this is the first time and I'll report If it happens again. The only reason why I say this is because I just updated to 22H2 and that's why I think it's a bug. It's never happened before.

    :)

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux

    • Oh and OSX
Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

  3. Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?
