    Security Center Services Cannot Be Started - Error 1068


    Hi,

    I am getting the "Security Center Can't Be Started" message on booting in the Action Center.

    I ran the following scans and removed all PUPs, spywares, etc. - ESET online, Kaspersky AV, Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware, Hitman Pro, Spybot, Roguekiller, Adware Removal Tool by TSA, adwcleaner, JRT, Zemana Antimalware,tdsskiller, TFC, Emisoft Emergency Kit and CCleaner.

    I have tried to start it using the Automatic (delayed) option, but it won't.

    The 3 error messages are attached for your kind reference.

    Please help me to resolve this error.

    Windows Security Center Is Not Starting

    I did the same but another failor happened:

    "Windows could not start the Security Center service on Local Computer.

    Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

    What to do?!

    Windows Management Services *NOT WORKING*

    After I updated to Windows 10, I have been unable to start my Security Center. I know this program has dependencies: Remote Procedure Call (RPC/RPCSS) and Windows Management Services (WINMGMT). I believe, if I can get Windows Management Services to
    start, my Security Center will start. Here is the status of the two dependencies:



    RPCSS is on

    Windows Management Services is off



    This is what I have done to try to fix the issue:

    1. Services:

    • Security Center
    • right click - start - FAILED " Error 1068: The Dependency service or group failed to start. "
    • right click - properties - startup type: Automatic
    • Apply - OK - right click - start - FAILED " Error 1068: The Dependency service or group failed to start. "
    2. Services:

    • Windows Management Services
    • right click - start - FAILED - "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."
    • right click - properties - startup type: Automatic
    • right click - start - FAILED - "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."
    3. Downloaded WMIDiag

    • Results:
    RPCSS service: ...................................................................................................... OK (Already started).

    WINMGMT service: .................................................................................................... Failed to start.

    • Ran the recommended changes through command.

    I cannot seem to fix this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

    Security Center Services Cannot Be Started - Error 1068

    Run CMD as admin and enter:

    winmgmt /salvagerepository

    Then reboot and try to start WMI service, if it fails, use those commands:

    Winmgmt /standalonehost
    Winmgmt /resetrepository

    Note, that you might need to reinstall some software after using reset command.
