Windows 10: Security Issue on Playing MP3 Files from Network Drive

Why do MP3 albums on my new network drive cause a security message to appear saying that internet security has blocked some of the files; but the files play fine if accessed from my old network drive?

Security "Hangup" on Playing MP3 Files

I cannot play an album of KNOWN GOOD MP3 files; Microsoft Security butts in and says that it blocked one or more of these known good files. What's going on AND how to fix the problem? The album is located on my NAS box addressable from any of my computers.

 

Issues playing MP3 files?

So I'm having a bit of an issue playing MP3 files on my PC, playing everything else like videos (mkv) or online videos plays fine but with MP3 files there is stuttering and a bit of lag.

I did check all my drivers and they are all up to date. I do have two different drivers, Nvidia and realtek and though I disabled one of them the issue remained. I did a troubleshoot scan on my PC but nothing happened.

I have tried different players including the default windows player and several different MP3 files but nothing works.

My ASUS laptop is about 2 months old, windows ten, k-lite codec and is a high end gaming PC. I shouldn't be dealing with this really.

 

Playing long MP3 files in Groove or other apps

I'd suggest capturing a Process Monitor trace of the issue. Start recording, then attempt to play one of the mp3s that is not working properly. Afterwards, stop and save the trace, compress it and upload it to onedrive/google drive/<your favorite filehost>.
