Windows 10: Security Keys Not Working

Hello,This doesn't pertain to Microsoft, but more Windows in general. I have physical security keys specifically the Yubikey tied to several of my accounts Microsoft included. I was thankfully able to log in here, but over the last week or so, I have tried several keys, and one day I'll be able to log in to my accounts, and the next day, I won't. I'll try multiple keys, and it will give me messages like "unable to read your key" or "unable to authenticate:" Yet when I log on to the same accounts on my Mac, using the same keys, I am able to log in without issue. That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
