Windows 10: "Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection"

    "Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection"


    The Internet works on my phone, but on my laptop the only site that works is Google and I can’t go on YouTube or Outlook or Gmail or anything like that. I run the troubleshooter and it said that ‘security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection’. That’s all I can find and I can’t find a way to fix it. The problem is only on my laptop and not my phone. I am on windows 11

    ive just arrived in China from London and tryig to connect to the hotel wifi and although it has full bars my laptop wont connect. When troubleshooting it says "windows cant communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)" and also "security
    or firewall settings might be blocking the connection". I can connect to the wifi perfectly on my phone so its not the wifi.

    Can someone PLEASE help as I really need to

    use the internet on my laptop here.

    Can Windows Firewall block outgoing connections yet? If not, it's one step above useless.

    Look into Online Armor for a free firewall.
