    Security problem, my computer never asks me for my pin because it never enters sleep mode


    This for me is a big security issue. But I think I have a clue that might help. I use an HP printer with Instant Ink Service so my printer is always on. However, if I turn the printer off, then my sleep mode system works properly and the next time I return to my computer I have to enter my pin. But I don't know how to fix this when I turn my printer back on and leave it on. This never used to happen before. I believe the problem started about 3 weeks ago.

    Several weeks ago I tried setting all my power and sleep setting to default but that didn't help. Any ideas?

    • Have you made any updates to your computer before experiencing this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Cannot Enter Safe Mode / Computer boots normally

    I'm running Win 10 Pro 1903.

    Here are the steps I have taken to get into safe mode: Start button, settings, update and security, recovery, advanced startup, troubleshoot, advanced options, startup settings, restart. The computer boots normally, not in safe mode. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks in advance for your help and interest. .
