Windows 10: Security tab in the Wireless Network Properties window now missing along with many Control...

Earlier today I was tasked with adding eduroam to a Windows computer. However, I am as of the last Windows 10 update unable to access the Security tab in the Wireless Network Properties window usually available through Control Panel. Any attempts to do so result in redirects to Windows 10's neutered "user-friendly" network setup. As such, I am unable to do various tasks such as but not limited to:1 Choose a network authentication method2 Set Protected EAP Properties3 Specify which servers to connect to4 Set USERTrust RSA Certification Authority5 Select Authentication Method: Secured passw

Wireless network security

My network status shows no wireless properties, hence no security tab or network security key?

 

'Network Address' property not displaying for wireless adapter

If you go to the "Device Manager" control panel window, and open the 'Network Adapters' drop down, there is a list of different Network Adapters. My goal was to change the MAC address on my wireless adapter that I use to connect to the wifi. You can do
this by displaying the properties of a network adapter in the list. When I open up the 'advanced' tab in the properties window, only 4 properties show up, none of which allow me to change my mac address, however I am able to change my mac address of the computer
itself, but this does nothing.

There is a possibility that the wireless adapter has been disabled or uninstalled, thus, you're not seeing the wireless properties. We would like to clarify some details, though, so we can properly isolate the issue.

• Is is the first time to connect that computer to the wireless network, or, was it working fine before?
• Are there other wireless computers in the setup that are currently connected to the network?
• Are you looking for the network key, or, are you looking to find the field where to input the key?

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest running the Windows Network Troubleshooter.

Go to Start , and select Settings >
Network & Internet > Status >
Network troubleshooter.
