Windows 10: Seeing items not in my network, in my network ...after gettingn new router

Greetings:


I have an HP probook with windows 10 professional 64 bit. I have had this computer now since October, and I thoroughly enjoy it.


It's been a learning curve with windows 10 but I do like it.


About two weeks ago Frontier the internet company provided me an upgraded router that was newer and could take faster internet speeds so they say


It is a Greenway, replacing an Auctiontec which I liked very much but had since 2006.


Can someone please help narrow down what is or could be causing this:


When I look at the computer's network where you can see your notebook, name, printer etc. I used to see everything I recognized and was mine.


However, about a week ago I checked by accident and I saw some very strange things that are not mine.

I saw once in a listing ABOVE my computer some device that said linux something this is in addition to the greenway router


and then I saw my printer,

and then another time I saw TWO cameras above the computer listing under "cameras"

and then the next level was the computer

and the level below that was my printer and then something that said "product agent for windows" and then "gina's fire tv"


I DO NOT HAVE A FIRE TV BUT I DO HAVE A FIRESTICK.


However, the first time I looked, i saw a ROKU -- I DO NOT NOR HAVE EVER HAD A ROKU.

All these vanished after a minute or they'd vanish when i started looking at the properties.


I also see in place of the properties under product agent for windows the website address for Bitdefender. I have the very basic one.


I have seen now a phone like someone's smart phone. I have an iphone and NEVER ONE TIME HAVE I CONNECTED IT TO MY COMPUTER.


It's not that I am opposed to that, i just never had the need to do so, so it's NOT my iphone. I don't even know what kind of phone this is.

I am uploading four screenshots. I can try to get better ones but I am not a pro at that, this windows 10 is different, I am not as good with this as windows 7.


QUESTION: WHAT in the world could these be and why are they showing up on MY network? How can this happen?


LET ME EMPHASIZE I am very security conscious, I immediately changed the router AND the wi fi password.


I noticed this AND that my wi fi, which is available in 5G and 2.5G but I only set up the 2.5G. I was going to set both up HOWEVER I did not, my firestick was on the 2.5G



TWO DAYS AGO I went to change the passwords AND I SAW MY FIRESTICK ON THE 5G.


mind you, it could not do that itself because the 2G and 5G had different passwords, and the firestick only has the password I put in for the 2.5G - in other words, someone else had to get access to that password and set that up.


THIS ROUTER is supposed to be more secure, but that alone with the fire stick is enough to make me wonder if the bad employees with Frontier and there are some

or

the router is just bad or

something else is happening.

I know this is a lot, please ask if I can explain more. I hope the photos help. I should only be seeing mine, and my fire stick should not be using any other wi fi but what i put it on.

Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Router For Home Network

Yet another thread on needing a router guys *Roll :roll:

Welp moral of the story is my current router decided to kick the bucket and no longer turns on so I’m in need of a new one for the family needs. I have a list of routers I have looked at but I’m not very good with networking so wondering out of the options I listed is the best choice. Please no other recommendations *I Love TPU :lovetpu:
