Windows 10: seeing that nobody uses markdown, need something Free to type in

on desktop

what have you used within the last year that you would suggest?

- no gdocs, no word, no evernote

* has to be free

(but if it isn't, there needs to be examples of exactly in what way the suggestion is helpful is you)

* has to have been updated or made better within the last 6 month


what do i currently use?

onenote (but moving away from it)


if you are familiar with, and have multiple suggestions

1. what would each be good for?

2. and what does it do exactly that is good for that?


also looking for something free that checks writing style

also something free that checks for conciseness of your writing

- this can be part of the software

- or a separate software, it doesnt really matter


any other absolute needs besides just free + updated?

has colors for fonts is important

- the software that doesnt have color would be for different uses

- & the software that with color would be for different uses

so the suggestion doesnt need to have color

something that really need to be added in 5800

1 ) Better Camera Picture Quality

2 ) While listening to music for a long time the music player hangs and stops reading from the memory card, need to restart the phone (Dont know if this can be solved by a firmware update).

3 ) Only images/pics in Images folder and Camera's folder must appear in the gallery, a seperate Camera folder in the gallery would be cool.

4 ) This is asking for too much but diff aspect ratios like 4:3, 16:9, 16:10 etc must be available in the video-player.

5) Some Widgets on the homescreen would be grt.

6) The Mediabar must be Red/Blue/Grey depending on the phone color and must not change to grey for other themes. Used to be the case till v11 , in v20 it goes grey for all themes other than the default soundwave theme.

7)Faster response to the selections when using theme effects (it's taking 3-4 seconds to open an app!)

8) Blinking White light for SMS/MMS received.

9) Blinking Red light for missed call.

10) Blinking Green light for email received maybe others?

11)add more shortcut ( can make the shortcut in such a way tat can slide from right to left)

v) more organized gallery ( camera photo and video will store in different folders automatically)and have better photo transition view ( maybe can make into 3D like HTC interface..haah , quite impossible)

12)menu button on home screen

That's a tall order. LibreOffice does offer tick-able options for grammar and such. But I have not used the Writer module to gauge its effectiveness in conciseness manipulations.

Open Office is very much alive, 4.1.5 released on 30th December 2017. As is Libre Office, 5.4.6 released last week, hardly dead or inactive!

 

LibreOffice 6.0 is the current release. Only 2 things I'll mention, one is to also get Help file and install it [about 6MB] and the other is the only thing not compatible with Microsoft is it has nothing like Outlook and Publisher.

 

Open Office development went through a bad patch and looked like it could fold when Oracle bought Sun Microsystems in 2010. LibreOffice was a fork from Open Office back then and has been in active development ever since. Oracle ended its development of Open Office in 2011 and donated the OpenOffice.org code and trademark to the Apache Software Foundation where development is steady, but nowhere near the pace of LibreOffice which has had a new release about every six months since it began. Could also mention the included WordPad that usually installs in Windows Accessories, a 'lite' version of Microsoft Word. Open the Run box [Windows key plus R] and type Write to see if WordPad is installed. Write was the name for the same thing back in Windows 3.xx.

tho sadly it seems to be a better release than the past, which means now i need to look into and test it
