A quick look at a recently installed program tells me there may be a relation based on date and time: Ashampoo PDF Pro 2 The universal PDF editor - create, edit and convert with ease Google gave me this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...f-95f26a218cc0 which sent me to my MS account wanting me to sign up for My.VisualStudio.com for unknown reasons. Likely NBD, but ... TIA to all who read this post and to those who offer advice/thoughts/comments.

Run appwiz.cpl > select each instance of the 2015, 2017, and 2019 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (x86 and x64) > Uninstall. Then proceed with installing the 2015-2019 Redistributables.

Unable to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) - 14.27.29112

I tried both solutions - installing and running the Install and Uninstall troubleshooter, and deleting the related keys in the registry.

When running the troubleshooter, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 were not visible on the list of programs. However, Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 and below was.

When going into the registry, none of the files located in that directory could be found when searching "C++ 2019 x86 Minimum Runtime - 14.27.29112".
However, searching "14.27.29112" yielded some keys, which were deleted. The computer was restarted afterwards. Still, when attempting to install the latest Visual C++ 14.27.29112, the same error is given.
