Windows 10: Selected programmes starts up but is unable to connect to internet, loading circle beside...

Hi,


I have been pouring through the forum but is unable to find a solution.


Issues for example:

Whatsapp Desktop: Programe starts but unable to connect to internet with loading circle beside cursor keeps blinking.

Nvidia Geforce experience: Programme not starting up

Steam: Steam starts but all black screen and is unable to load anything.

I understand they are different programmes but i suspect the issues are related.


i have tried all the methods below:


You might check if any change has been made in the connection settings within the Internet Explorer.

To check that:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Go to Tools.

3. Select internet Options.

4. Go to the Connection tab, click on LAN setting.

5. Check if any proxy setting has been changed in there.

If anything has been changed set it back to original settings and check if your issue is resolved.



If that does not resolve the issue try troubleshooting the Network Adapter from Network and Sharing Center.

1. Click theStart button,

2. ClickControl Panel‌.

3. In the search box, typetroubleshooter.

4. ClickTroubleshooting, click Network and Internet, and then click the type of problem you are experiencing.


Results:troubleshooting prompted with this message: "Windows could not automatically detect this network proxy settings"



Follow the steps to disable proxy:

a. Click Start, and type Internet options.
b. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings
c. Uncheck the Use Proxy server.
d. Click Apply and Ok to save changes.

Also, double-check your date and time of your system if it's correct.

Now open CMD Admin,
Type these:
>netsh winsock reset
>netsh int ip reset

Reset the entire network and follow this:
Start, select Settings.
Select Network & Internet.
Click Status, and Network Reset.
Click Reset and Yes.


Result: Does not solve issue


CMD-> Run as Admin -> sfc/scannow


Result: Window resource protection could not perform the requested operation.

Please follow the suggestions mentioned below:

1. Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
2. Click File > Run New Task
3. Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
4. Type CMD

Type the following 2 commands at the Command Prompt:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow
5. Close the CMD window.

Hope it helps.


Results:

Error: 87

The online/cleanup-image/restorehealth option is unknown.
For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /?.

Strange problem with connectivity to internet

just checked but internet explorer isn't in list in programms and features in control panel. *Frown

did to resolve the same issue.

To update your network adapter, you can follow these steps:

  Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select
  it from the list of results.

  Expand the category where your device is located, then right-click on the name of your device, and select Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  

If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If updating the device driver doesn't work, we suggest that you reinstall the driver: 

• 
  Open Device Manager.
  
• 
  Right-click on the name of the device.
  
• 
  Select Uninstall. 
  
• 
  Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

  Select and click
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click
  Network and Internet.
  
• 
  Click
  Internet Connections.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting to complete.
  
• 
  After troubleshooting is completed, check the status of the troubleshooter shown on the window.
