Windows 10: Sensitive tap to click touchpad

I bought a new Inspiron 3520 laptop and for a cheaper laptop its been alright. I only have one issue that I cannot resolve with it. The touchpad apparently only uses the touchpad settings in Settings and its not described as a Precision touchpad. The issue I have is the tap to click feature for left clicks is far to sensitive and I get so many unwanted clicks just moving cursor. I tried adjusting the sensitivity but did not seem to reduce it enough. I finally ended up just turning off that feature and now just press touchpad to click. I guess I could just use a mouse more often and I do wish t

Follow the next steps one by one to adjust sensitivity in the Settings.

1. Go to Start to look for Settings.

2. Find Devices and then Touchpad.

3. Click on the Taps and then on Touchpad sensitivity.

4. Select the type of sensitivity you prefer from the drop-down list.

Hi Joobster,

When you mean Touchpad sensitivity, are you referring to the pointer speed of your touchpad? Or are you referring to the touch/pressure sensitivity of your touchpad whenever to press your fingers on your touchpad?

If you are referring to the pointer speed, you may follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
• Type "main.cpl" and hit enter.
• Click Pointer Options.
• Under Motion, select the pointer speed you wanted for your touchpad.

Regarding the Touch/pressure sensitivity, then you will need to contact your PC manufacturer to assist you on installing the right drivers for your touchpad.
