Windows 10: Serach Box Function on task bar WONT SERACH WEB.

Search Box suddenly stopped searching Web for things. If I type in anything to find on laptop like Device Manager... no problem.. BUT when I try to type and search for example "Joe Biden" all I get is this ERROR.




I DON'T use Cortana. Have had it disabled from day one. Never had an issue before.


Any ideas why???

Win 10 people App will not find people called Sam!!

I have several contacts called Sam.

when I serach for them using 'Sam' they do not show up in the serach list.

I have created several new contacts in the App and in google coantacts, single first name or first and last

Yet,

• when I scroll down they are there
• when I look in my google contacts, and in my phone they are there, and I can serach for them
• when I search on their last name they do show in the serach list

Is this a known bug?

You're just failing to follow the steps properly. That's all.

Be sure to right click on an empty area of your taskbar, click on Search in the context menu, and then click on Disabled like below.





If you don't see this above, then please post a screenshot of what you see when you right click on your taskbar.

Follow the steps given below to run Search and Indexing Troubleshooter.

• Type Troubleshooting in the
  Search box from the desktop.
• Select the Troubleshooting option.
• Select View All option and select the
  Search and Indexing.
• Click on Next to perform the
  Search and Indexing troubleshooter and follow the steps.

Method 2: I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps suggested from the Microsoft helps article like: Check for updates, Restart the computer, run the troubleshooter, create test user account and check if it helps.
