Windows 10: Serious issue accessing as multi accounts all having Picture password

I don't know if it's my installation, but I can't really switch to select a differet login user once I turn on my PC, and it brings to the last logged on user and his Picture password screen.

both users have a Picture password and I don't have any chance to pick the other one, unless:
- I select a different type of access
- ask for password
- then the damn multi-user LH box appears
- and I can pick another one.
Then do the opposite until I get back to his Picture password screen. Odd and unbelieavable, considering how well streamlined in Win8.1... *Confused

Is there a way to circumvent this behaviour?

The old way I found for Windows 8.x (HERE) is not working anymore, as I went in the Registry of mine upgraded Win10 and found it was already correctly modified (=1), but the login screen is a mess, nonetheless.

Any advice?

I'm ok with Task scheduling batches, reg modification, whatever. But it's Win10 Home, so no gpedit involved..

Admin account password not working

I am on a msi cx61 that was originally windows 8 but I upgraded to windows 10 a while back. After an update to windows 10 recently I became unable to use the taskbar. I troubleshooted that for a while but ended up deciding to just make a new user account
to side step it.

This was successful but the new user account was not an admin account. I then could not log back into my original account which had a picture password only and got the message "your picture password enrollment contains an old password. Please sign in with
your new password". That account did not have a text password, only the picture.

I now can't recover the files and pictures on the old account and have tried various methods but all resetting or changing of account settings requires admin access. Is there a way to reset my admin password or re-install windows (while keeping my files)
without admin access.

Can access my child's account

I have Windows 10. I have set up a child account with a picture access for my child. I now do not have the ability to see the picture for the picture password function and have forgotten the real text password.... There is no place to change the password
for my child in my main account. Or I can not find it.

Please help!

 

I've rolled back to Win 8.1 because for this (and because for other things, like the Store stopped opening suddenly; and no WSRESET, nor any Powershell re-registering or MS-fix got it back working).

To whom that may agree that Picture Password login needs at least the same love the password login has, I've opened a uservoice suggestion.

Hope TH2 will bring some enhancement to the table. I can't really understand how MS hopes break the market with multi-account capable tablets (not having a keyboard) and having such a issue for their simple yet innovative Picture log ins.

That tutorial seems to not work on Win10 as that registry key doesn't do anything, today.

I wonder if someone has circumventing that issue by finding any alternative way..

The impossibility to select the proper user from the Picture Password drive me crazy and I've downgraded my tablet back to 8.1 waiting for a possible fix for that... :\

 

Has anyone been able to test if new Fall Update official build has solved this problem about Picture Password login? Haven't the time to upgrade my test machine to that build, yet.

After I've installed 10586 by myself, I may answer to this, sadly.

Nothing has been done on TH2. Two Picture Password login users can't switch between them without cahnging input method. Every. Single. F*king. Time.

Good job MS, good job.

 

I would think that this wouldn't cause issues considering the update is supposed to be streamline...

 

Redstone final build (presumably the one which will hit the AU in a week or so) has added a "Switch User" command in the LH pane; if pressed a list of available users is finally available, directly in the Picture Password login.
One year's passed. We've now this solved.
