  1. Serious keyboard problem on communication apps


    I got a limiting hardware problem that I've been noticing since about two months ago. It's in regard to remote communication call applications, or screen sharing ones like remote assistance. I would love it was only tied to a single app, but it seems to be a common problem on that kind of applications, so I hope my generalization is well understood. Also, I don't think I have acquired any virus recently I've only been using Windows Defender, and totally trust it, along my care.


    So, the keyboard totally locks since the real-time sessions start - I can't command any key inside nor outside the app in question. The mouse is always fine. I will put now concrete examples for the affected experiences on each application I've had this problem with:

    • Skype: when I'm in a call including Echo Test, I can't input anything within the inner chat or outside the app.
    • TeamViewer: when I'm remotely assisting someone, I can't input anything within the other user's desktop nor my PC. Moreover, sometimes a key will start spamming indefinitely, without me pressing it causing writings in the syle of "ggggggggggggggggggg". Sometimes, if I re-plug the keyboard it may resume to work fine.
    • Zoom: I need to use this app for company meetings. The same main problem happens here when I'm in a call keyboard locks within the app chat and outside.


    Once the aforementioned sessions end, then I can continue to use keyboard normally.


    This keyboard is an USB one. I don't know if perhaps this is tied to a drivers problem.


    Update: I have just tried to reproduce this problem on Skype with a PS/2 keyboard I was using around two years ago, and it doesn't happen with it.

    Hi David,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

    If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device Manager
      from the list.

    • Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.

    • Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.

  3. Problem in windows 10 Touch Keyboard

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you can get the touch keyboard icon:

    • Right Click on the task bar on empty place and
    • Select the option which says Show touch keyboard button

    This issue might occur due to some corruption in the Windows Store.

    I would suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Try running Windows store app troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Type troubleshooting in the
      Search
      area on the taskbar.

    • Click on View all on the left panel of the Troubleshooting Windows.

    • Select Windows store Apps.

    • Follow the on screen instruction.
    If issue persist, I suggest you to try method2.

    Method 2: Try resetting the Windows Store cache and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps to Reset Windows Store cache.


    • Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.

    • Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
    If issue persist, I suggest you to try method 3.
