  1. SERIOUS PROBLEM: Can Skype Give Away My Privacy?

    Hey I.T experts!

Skype is the only app I use to communicate with people online and this is why I'm so worried.

I was about to download the Skype update and install it, but I'm just worried about something.

    This is my big fear:

That Skype has the ability to "screencast" or record videos of me using Skype and the other apps that I use and then upload them back to the Skype headquarters.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

    What can I do?

    Thank you!

    :)

  2. can't connect to IM

It feels weird answering my own question but this might help others.

I found out that the culprit was Skype. I realised a few hours ago that this problem started ever since I installed Skype. Incidentally my 510 does not have Skype on it. I use the same live id on Skype. So decided to give it a try and remove Skype and hello,
I am online on the People hub!!

Look's like the Skype version on windows phone is truly a preview version and is not ready for prime time usage. For now, I am going to stay away from Skype.

For me it was Skype! I noticed this when I turned off wifi on my laptop it stopped happening. I uninstalled Skype and the problem went away.

If that is going to be part of Skype from now on then I would certainly stop using it.

Is that new feature in the Skype Preview version? If not, it might be time to switch to that.

Preview doesn't mention screencast in settings, does the desktop version?
