    Server 2019 - Unable to Install Updates, Unable to Cleanup-image with DISM


    Windows Server 2019 Standard OS version 1809, build 17763.3232 is no longer able to process many Windows Updates - when attempting to update I am getting "Error code: 0x80073712". Thus far, troubleshooting has suggested DISM cleanup-image scanhealth, restore health, but neither of which will execute successfully - DISM Log refers to errors with the CBS - CBS log suggests the following which I'm trying to understand:2022-08-16 09:26:19, Error CSI 00000007 F STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND #560377# from Windows::Rtl::SystemImplementation:Server 2019 - Unable to Install Updates, Unable to Cleanup-image with DISM :DirectRegistryProvider::SysOpenK

    Server 2019 DISM Error: 1734

    Restart and ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth and getting an error.
    dism runs to 100% ands errors out with Error: 1734. "The array bounds are invalid."
    dism.log is unremarkable with no errors, log contains warnings on missing siloedpackageprovider.dll and warnings on paths

    (after dism restorehealth)
    sfc/scannow runs to completion with no integrity issues found

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth
    "the component store is repairable"

    Not sure how to proceed, unable to find related posts on "DISM Server 2019 1735"

    DISM unable to locate Install.wim file


    Nothing wrong with using install.esd

    @EasyGoingPat
    FYI, install.esd or install.wim both result the extraction of the component store files to temp folder (%USERPROFILE%\Appdata\local\temp) then use them to repair.

    1. Copy install.esd to your Desktop
    2. From Admin command, run: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    3. then run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:ESD:%USERPROFILE%\install.esd:1 /LimitAccess
    For Step 2 & 3. Just copy and paste the command to make sure the syntax is correct. See screen shot:
    NOTE: Step 2 in the screen shot will be different from yours since I have no corruption.
