    Server Busy Error - Choose 'Switch to' to activate the busy programs


    We are seeing "Server Busy - Choose 'Switch to' activate the busy programs" error, with one of our COM library we are using. Could you help us how we can troubleshoot the cause of this error. We wanted to know which function is causing this issue. We would like to know if there is a way to know the timestamp exactly at what point of time this error is thrown by Windows OS. Please suggest if there will be any windows logs we can refer to analyze this error.

    I have a Suface Book I get this message: Server Busy This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch To" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

    I purchased a New Surface Book in July 2017 with Windows 10.

    Every time I first start the Laptop I always get this message in a dialog window:

    Server Busy

    This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch To" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

    I have to choose the "Switch To" option on the dialog box, it opens the Windows Start menu (located in the lower left corner) and does nothing.

    How do I stop the message from occurring?

    It appears a lot of people have received this message over the years with no solution!!

    I have a Suface Book I get this message: Server Busy This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch To" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

    I also bought my Surface Book with Windows 10 in July 2017.

    I have the same exact issue it started occurring after Microsoft installed the drivers for the Surface Dock I purchased at a Microsoft Store.

    By reading various blogs this issue comes up from loading different software also. It's very common but there does not appear to be a fix.

    What is the fix?

    Server Busy

    This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch To" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

    Server Busy Error - Choose 'Switch to' to activate the busy programs

    Server Busy Message in Windows 10

    "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem."

    The button choices are "Switch To" and "Retry" Neither offer any assistance as to what is actually the problem.

    The pop-up box is headed "Server Busy"
