Windows 10: Servers communicating my internet data keep changing

Yesterday I had a brief power outage caused by a breaker trip, after I reset it the internet came back on but it's been acting funny. My download and upload speeds are normally fine when I run a speed test, but my ping/latency is almost always at an unusable speed. I have the latest drivers installed for my network adapter and have uninstalled my antivirus and VPN which I suspected was causing the problem but it didn't help. I've done a network settings reset through windows and still nothing, as well as all the fixes from this thread https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/inter

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Communicating with the DNS server

Since you got the error "unable to contact your DHCP server", this could be due to a disabled DHCP client. We suggest following these steps to enable it:

• Click Start.
• Type services.msc and press
  Enter.
• Find DHCP Client from the list of services and check the status.
• If DHCP Client isn't running, right-click it and choose
  Start.
• The DHCP Client Startup type should be
  Automatic. If it's not, double-click it, choose Automatic.
• Click Apply.
• Click OK.

Check if you can use the ipconfig /renew command after enabling the DHCP Client. If you're still unable to connect to the Internet after this, we recommend uninstalling your network
adapter driver by following these steps:

• Right-click the Start button and choose Device manager.
• Click the arrow beside Network adapters and double-click your network adapter.
• Go to the Driver tab.
• Click Uninstall device.
• Restart your computer. This will prompt Windows to automatically reinstall the correct driver.

Let us know what happens after enabling the DHCP Client and reinstalling the network adapter driver.

 

Error: Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary dns server)

I understand that you are receiving the error Windows can’t communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server) while running the network troubleshooter. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

1. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC?
   
2. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



Method 1:



I would suggest you to try changing the IPv4 settings and see if that helps. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
   Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type
   ncpa.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Now right click on the
   network adapter i.e., Ethernet/WIFI and select
   Properties.
   
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on
   Properties.
   
5. On the General tab click on the
   radio button next to Obtain an IP address automatically
   and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
   
6. Now click on OK.
   
7. Restart the PC.
   

If the above method does not work, try the next method.



Method 2:



I would suggest you to try resetting the network settings and check. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Click on the Search Bar on the bottom left hand corner and type
   CMD.
   
2. Now right click on it and click on
   Run as administrator.
   
3. Now type in the below commands one by one:
   ipconfig /flushdns
   
   ipconfig /registerdns
   
   ipconfig /release
   
   ipconfig /renew
   
4. Restart the PC.
