  1. Service host: AudioEndpointBuilder 30% PC load?

Recently I have had the problem that the audio sometimes drops out (only for a fraction of a second). I have tried listening to music with Spotify, but it stopped after about 10 seconds most of the time and the song stopped completely or Spotify closed completely. Everything is ok with the headset, I have already tried this with another PC and with my mobile phone.

Before I didn't have the problem, I never saw "Service Host: AudioEndpointBuild" in the task manager with 30% load, so I strongly suspect that this could be the reason. Also, I see with 5% "Service host: Local service (Audiosrv)" that I haven't noticed yet.

    Specs:

    Windows 10

    Headset: lioncast lx55

    CPU: i5-4460

If something else is relevant, just write it down and I will answer it.

    Which I've already tried:

Windows update, reinstallation of headset driver, in msconfig all services (except Microsoft services disabled), superfetch disabled

    :)

  2. Browser /connection security, hosts file and DNS service

You're saying that Open DNS(and other services like it) house their own list of known 'bad' sites, and by using their DNS servers, it will filter out sites based on that list?

Would you believe I was already using Open DNS servers.
This means the hosts file is moot?

And furthering that, if there's any bespoke sites I want to manually add, I could do it through my router directly.

Thus I can empty my local hosts file and turn my DNS service back on?
