Session Management: Insufficient Session ID Length

As per our security team, the ASP.Net generated session ID length is insufficient. Here the recommendation is session ID should be more than 128bits but ASP.NET provide session ID length is 120bits. When the session ID is less than 128 bits (16 bytes), it
is practical for hackers to perform brute-force attacks. It was recommended by the security team that session ID should be composed of static data and variable data, and only variable data are counted in length calculation.

Can I increase the session ID length from 120 bits to 128 bits in ASP.NET Framework 4.0 environment ?

Also, if we need to override the session ID class what are all factor we need to consider while overriding the methods CreateSessionID and Validate.

Generally in Windows, session ids are used to identify different user login sessions.

However, in your thread, the occurrence of multiple session ids in the primary user account may be due to some process or service on the system. Some applications or services may create new session ids while running in the background, which may cause you to see multiple session ids.

When you restart your computer, the system reinitializes and shuts down all processes and services, causing the number of session ids to return to normal.

You don't need any third-party software to find the session ID, just right-click Start -- Terminal (administrator) and type "tasklist" .

This is what happened on my computer:





But in fact, in fact, you do not have to worry, your computer has not been hacked, this will not affect your normal use.

Active ID Sessions

Hi everyone, I got a question and I'm really confused about it. Why does my main user account got more than one active ID session, it only do increases once I turn off and on my pc and when I restart it, it goes back to 1 active session ID
