    Set a custom aspect ratio/resolution through Windows


    Hi,I mostly use my desktop Running Win11 as a cloud computer, remotely connecting to it via Parsec.I often connect to it via my Surface, which has a 3:2 aspect ratio, rather than the 16:9 one of my Desktop monitor that is attached to my PC. This results in black bars on the top and bottom, which are also kind of annoying when using the mouse in full-screen.My Desktop is attached to an AOC CQ32G7 1440p@144Hz,16:9 using DP.I have tried to set a custom aspect ratio through my AMD GPU driver, however, it says: "The settings are outside the capabilities of the attached display" kinda makes sen

    Resolution/Aspect Ratio Problems...?


    For my work I need to take screen captures of maps to put together in a separate program. I started noticing that some portions of the images would line up perfectly while others would be way off, no matter what I scaled them to. Could this be a problem with my Aspect Ratio/Resolution settings? I have it set to the recommended Resolution setting. Any ideas?

    Aspect ratio

    After windows 10 upgrade patch, the monitor is stretched sideways indicating a problem with aspect ratio. How can this be fixed? There are no proper screen resolution options on display settings.

    Hi Ashakil,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern, make sure you are logged in as admin. After that please follow the steps below and check the aspect ratio.


    • Right click on Desktop.

    • Click on Personalize.

    • Advanced display settings,

    • Display Adapter properties

    • Monitor>scaling>Change Aspect Ratio.
