Set a network adapter as the default

    Win10 Pro v10.0.19041, build19041

For the last few weeks on one PC which is wired to the router it has been suffering network drop out, all other devices connected to the router are fine

I have a gigabyte mobo with Intel chipset and an intel network adapter Which is all up to date with drivers - No new software/HW has been installed

In Control Panel>Network, it shows the Intel Adapter and the MS HyperV which is shown as default

When the connection fails it shows HyperV as disabled and no network on the Intel I have attempted to set the intel as default properties>Advanced>untick auto metric and enter 5

But this appears to have no impact

A system re-boot brings the network back on line, until 4-8 hours later it again goes out

DISM/sfc have found on issues, all mobo drivers are up to date

So how do I set the intel as default

In the pic the intel adapter is connected, but no IPV6, whereas the HyperV has no network access

Set a network adapter as the default ff5147fb-2066-441a-9ced-a4b313043fb4?upload=true.png

    :)

    Network adapter

    Hi Ryan,

Let's work on this together. Have you restarted your device since then? This should reinstall the network adapters automatically. If it didn't, let's perform the Network reset.
It removes any network adapters you have installed and the settings for them. After your PC restarts, any network adapters are reinstalled, and the settings for them are set to the defaults.
    Follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet >
      Status
      > Network reset.
    • On the Network reset screen, select Reset now > Yes.
    • Wait for your PC to restart and see if that fixes the problem.

    Please advise as necessary.

Set a network adapter as the default

IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

    Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
    Step 2:

    Expand it (Network adapters).

    Step 3:

    Select your network adapter

    Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
    Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.

Set a network adapter as the default [IMG]

    Step 6:

Then select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.

Set a network adapter as the default [IMG]

    Step 7:

Now choose the “Manufacturer’s drivers” from the list of two and then click next.

Set a network adapter as the default [IMG]

    Step 8:

After the completion of the process just restart your PC and check if the problem is solved or not. If not, goto solution 2.

Set a network adapter as the default [IMG]

Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

    Step 1:

    Open command prompt.
    Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
    Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
    netsh int tcp show global
    then hit enter.
    Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs
