    HelloI just need to know if I can set Adobe Acrobat as default application for opening and editing PDF files, and set another program such as Netro or Xchange Viewer for perviewing files in windows explorer and Outlook. I am using Window 11, I was was able to do this in windows 10.Any help would be appreciated.

    Open PDF with Adobe Acrobat

    I assume you are using the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2021.005.20048. As far as I know older versions are no longer supported.

    That is my default PDF Reader, no problem with making that the Default.

    Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Set defaults by app > Adobe Acrobat Reader DC > Click on that > Manage > .pdf should obviously be Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as are some others.

    Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose Default applications by file type > Scroll down to .pdf click on that Choose Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    That should stick, it does on mine.

    Since when are you facing this issue?

    I suggest you to set default applications by file type from Windows settings. Follow the steps mentioned below:-

    1. Tap on Windows + I on the keyboard.

    2. Click on Apps.

    3. Select Default apps option.

    4. Select Choose
    default app by file type.

    5. Next to .pdf choose a default application as
    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    If the issue still persists try to Set Acrobat or Reader as the default PDF owner. Refer the following link steps to

    set Acrobat or reader as the default PDF owner
    .

    When I try to set the default program to open pdf files Adobe Acrobat Pro is not even listed. How can I set Adobe Acrobat Pro as the default?
