  1. Set C to be Windows OS only, no programs, no temp files.

Hi! Im not sure if this was posted, but I wasnt able to find it thru google.

Basically I want to use my m2 C drive ONLY for Windows OS. I dont want any user setting, any user folder documents, pictures, videos, etc. in my C drive. also want all programs to go to another folder in another drive. is this possible?

The reason behind this is because I use some software that for some reason take up my C drive and fills it up, even when I already have everything outside of the C drive temp files, scratch disks, cache, etc. and I only want Windows to manage the C drive, so no other programs fills it up with unwanted temporal files or any other kind of stuff.

ps. I already got rid of TEMP folder, cache folder, app data folder, paging files and etc. from the C drive, but still gets filled by the software whenever I open my projects. So I think its because the software its installed on the C drive because its the fastest drive I have

    :)

Partitioning Program Files/Program Files(x86) from Windows 10 install?

In the coming week I will be installing Windows 10 Home on my new computer. I will be using an SSD and an HDD, the SSD for the OS, programs and games and the HDD for photos, music and all the other slow stuff.
So, my question. In case the OS were to ever get corrupted, or I had to reinstall the OS for any other reason, is it possible to have the SSD set up as follows; Partition 1 - OS, Partition 2 - Program Files/Program Files((x86) plus other associated folders/files) and Partition 3 for my games, so that any re-install does not wipe out my already installed programs?

I had no problem doing this in with my XP desktop(OS in C and Progs in D, although not perfect, but was never able to do it with Windows 7.

    Can it be done?

    Tom.

Set C to be Windows OS only, no programs, no temp files.

Is it safe to delete the Temp folder in C:/Windows/Temp?

Yes, all *files* in the temp folder (not the folder itself) can, and should be, deleted periodically.

The temp folder provides workspace for programs. Programs can create temporary files there for their own temporary use. Each program should delete all its temporary files when it closes, but for various reasons it doesn't always happen (for example,
if the program crashes, it never gets to do this). That's why it's a good idea to periodically clean out anything left there.

Also note that there are some program installations which work in two steps. The first step concludes by writing temporary files and rebooting. The second step starts automatically after rebooting and needs to find those files there (and then deletes
    them when it's done).

Other than doing it automatically when rebooting (that would interfere with installations like the kind I described), it's always safe to delete the contents of the temp folder. Because it's safe to delete any temp files that aren't open and in use
by an application, and since Windows won't let you delete open files, it's safe to (try to) delete them at any time. If any fail to delete because they're open, they'll either be deleted automatically when the app using them closes, or you'll get them the
    next time you delete manually.

Some people may suggest that you reboot before deleting anything, but that's not necessary, for the reason described above (on the other hand, it doesn't hurt to do it).
