Windows 10: Set-ExecutionPolicy default -Scope Process -Force auto changes on reboot

Hello can you please help me? I have run this command in powershell Set-ExecutionPolicy default -Scope Process -Force, however it will auto set back to undefined after a reboot.


Why would this change back to undefined? Is this required by windows to be undefined? If so then why would it now say windows default defined can not be changed over undefined on a reboot?


If I set it to restricted it auto changed again to undefined on a reboot. This is also not set under user group policy.


Any Ideas as you cant change some even if they have no group policy seems like a bug to me?

has been around from the introduction of PowerShell and is still valid.
Please check if you typed it correctly and if you are running PowerShell as Administrator.

 

No "Scope" in dxcpl

Hi Mika,

For us to isolate your concern with the scope section in the dxcpl settings, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?If yes,
  we suggest that you try reinstalling it.
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

gives me
'Set-ExecutionPolicy' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

2nd code of step 3
$env:USERPROFILE\Desktop\CheckFileEncoding.ps1
gives me
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

i did not try next steps.
It does not work anymore.
Maybe something is changed with the new win 10 updates, from the time the article was written until today.
Any help?
