Windows 10: Set Movies And TV Back As The Default Media Player In Windows 11

I'd Like To Revert Movies And TVs To Being My Default Media Player In Windows - A Recent Update Seems To Have Made It So That Media Player Is The Default App For All My Videos, But When I Try To Set Movies And TVs As The Default App Again, I Don't See It In The Menu, Even When Looking Through Settings. Could I Be Doing Something Wrong Or Could It Be Something Wrong With The Insider Build I'm Running?

Window Media Player and Movies & TV arent working with internet conection

I realize that WMP and M& TV app is not working on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

As Windows Media Player is not able to access the file, suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if that helps. Follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
  

Select “Windows Media Player Settings” troubleshooter and run it to check if that helps.

Further, you may also take ownership of the file to check if that helps.

Follow these steps:

• 
  Right click the file and select Properties.
  
• 
  Click the Security tab, tap or click Advanced, then tap or click Change. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  
• 
  Type the name of the person that you want to give ownership to, and then click Check Names.
  

Note: The account name for the person that you are assigning ownership to is displayed.

• 
  Click OK.
  
• 
  If you want this person to be the owner of the files and subfolders that are contained in this folder, select the “Replace owner on sub-containers and objects” check box.
  
• 
  Click OK.

Microsoft Movies & TV Integration With Windows 11 Media Player?

I Have A Feature Request Here… Could We Add Microsoft’s Movies & TV App Integration Into The New Media Player App For Windows 11? We Can Watch Movies & TV Shows Directly From It’s New Media Player App, It Should Be Outstanding!

 

No option to set default for media players

Just recently (I think there was an update) there stopped being an option to set a media file type (AVI, WAV, etc)) to open with a certain media player. If I right clicked on a video and selected "open with" I would get a list of my players and an option to always use the player I chose as the default app for that file type. Now that option is gone and everything is defaulted to a windows app "Movies and TV" which cant play .mkv files. So I have to keep selecting the player to use rather than just set it as the default for mkv files. Why did they change this and can I change it back? Thanks
