Windows 10: Set some items to single click, others to double click?

Can I set desktop icons to single click but still have files and folders set to double click?

Mouse (USB) double clicks on single click

• Type file explorer options on the search bar and press Enter.
• On the Click items as follows, make sure that you opted for
  Double-click to open an item(single-click to select).
• Select Apply and click OK.

There are a couple of things we can do to solve your concern. We suggest to follow the steps below:

• Type Specify single- or double-click to open in the search box, then press
  Enter.
• Look for Click item as follows, then select the radio button that says
  Single-click to open an item (point to select).
• Click Apply, then OK.

Windows 10 - changing from single-click back to double-click

Follow these steps to change single-click to double-click when opening an item:

• On the Cortana search, type in Control Panel and click it from the search results.
• Click File Explorer Options.
• Under the General tab, look for Click items as follows.
• Tick or select Double-click to open an item (single-click to select).
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, check if you now need to double-click to open an item.
