  1. Set up log in PIN after TPM error during BIOS update.

After my most recent windows update, it said there was an error with my TPM. Now at the sign in screen it says "Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. Click to set up your PIN again." But when I click it won't actually advance forward to let me set up a PIN. It pulls up a screen like it's accessing my Microsoft Account, then reverts back to the message about thr unavailabke PIN.Can someone provide me with a solution? I've already tried running in Safe Mode and uninstalling the most recent update.

    :)

  2. TPM update

Don't know if this is the right place for this thread but whatever, laptop informed me that " a firmware update is needed for you security processor (TPM)," now, i looked up what to do and from a microsoft support thing, the last step says to clear the tpm. it has a warning saying to back up my data, i would like to know what clearing the tpm does, and what measures i need to take to make sure nothing goes wrong.

  3. Can't log in to windows after a BIOS update, due to phonenumber change and PIN reset

    Hi Florian,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

The BIOS update likely turned on/off the TPM which forced you to Reset your PIN. Please check in BIOS settings, and turn it to the opposite state i.e. if it is ON, set to off and see if you can login.

TPM might be listed under Security Chip, Intel PTT etc in Security settings.

    Good luck!

Set up log in PIN after TPM error during BIOS update.

Getting error 0x8009002d when trying to sign in with a pin, can't remove PIN

    Hi Ryan,

This error message usually appear if your system's TPM is not turned on, but take note that not all devices have TPM chip on their system. To check if the issue is not with the TPM, I suggest that you make sure that your BIOS is updated, then ensure that
TPM is turned ON in the BIOS. You can follow this steps on how to check TPM status:

    1. Simultaneously click Windows key + R.
    2. Type tpm.msc, then Enter.
    3. TPM Management windows will appear and check under Status if it is stated that "The TPM is ready for use".

Let us know if you need further help.
