  1. Set up Windows 11 on new laptop, having already set up with an account I don't want to use

Unfortunately, I've set up my new laptop using my work email and MS account. The machine is running Windows 11 Home and Pro. I've also installed a single license of Office on the machine. However, I'd prefer to set up the machine with a "local account". How do I do that as I've already set up the work account on the machine? Do I have to connect to the internet to make the change? And, do I have to reload the license for Office it's not 365 to the machine after making the change? Thanks for your help in advance.

    :)

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

    Hello,
Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Set up new laptop without Microsoft Account

    Hello, *Smile

Correct, you would pick up at step 17 in the tutorial below to set up the new laptop if not already, and do step 24 to set up a local account. It will be an administrator account by default when created during setup.

    Clean Install Windows 10

You can then use option 1 in the tutorial below to set up netplwiz to automatically sign in to your account at startup.

Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

In addition, you may also want to turn off require sign-in on wakeup.

Set up Windows 11 on new laptop, having already set up with an account I don't want to use

will FF lockwise work from my laptop. Have IP, don,t carry or use it.

Not alongside passwords but you can save secure notes containing that information.

If you install the extension in Firefox on all machines you just need the one master password to login and access all passwords.

There's also a portable app that you can download or run from USB to access your data. Requires email confirmation on first use:

Here's that app with the note I just saved.

App is here but needs a Lastpass account set up via browser extension in order to import data.
