Windows 10: Setting Defender Options via GPO

    Setting Defender Options via GPO


    Hi all,

    I am trying to change a setting for 'App & browser control' --> 'Check apps and files' from 'Warn' to 'Block' via a GPO setting. I believe that I have the latest Windows Defender template installed. I cannot see an option to enforce the 'Block' setting, I I can disable the users being able to to change the setting but I want to enforce the setting as well.


    FYI these are domain joined devices.


    Any advise would be appreciated.

    How do I set the "Random Hardware Addresses" setting in Wi-Fi settings via GPO?

    This setting is found in two places. I have a need to control both with a GPO. I have not been able to find a GPO setting, or a registry key, that will manage both settings. I would like both set to ON.

    Setting #1:

    • Windows Icon > Settings > Network & Internet > WIFI > Manage Hardware Settings

    Setting #2

    • Windows Icon> Settings> Network & Internet > WIFI> Advanced Options –
