Windows 10: Setting to Turn Off Dings, Bells, Etc.

My Windows keeps making unnecessary noises when stuff happens. For example, if I increase the volume, it dings. If I try to type in a field that is greyed out, I get a "dong" sound with every keystroke. Sometimes, a dialog pop up comes with a bell.


I'm sure there is a setting to stop these noises, but I can't find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Dinging Dinging and "Garmin is Running" why

I am really glad to know that this feature exsists, thank you. However, I had to roll back out of Mango, and now there is no background option under Settings/Applications.



I was annoying everyone in meetings with my phone going crazy and dinging/dinging/dinging, no way to silence it. Except turn it off, then leave it off, pretty much don't have a phone then.

“Ding”, “Ding” and on and on and on and on and on for hours (it’s not funny guys), very, very annoying, what is wrong with it. I did turn all the settings off for any messaging or alerts and reset it and it will not
stop, I'm getting ready to throw the darn thing as far I can throw it, at the time when I bought this Windows Phone,
I had the choice of buying an IPhone, but I did not, I regret it so much now. Everybody likes iPhones, I see now why, things like this are not happening
with the IPhone, now I have to deal with this problematic phone and maybe the problematic
Microsoft operating system, where I could have being doing
a million other things, If I don’t find a solution very soon
I'm considering getting an IPhone, at least I will have a piece of mind, Please some body help me, now I have the phone on just Vibrate, but is using a lot of power, so I’m tired of it, please help

Dinging Dinging and "Garmin is Running" why

Same issue as some others I have heard about, but nothing is on the net.. I am frustrated with this mango update, as it made phone go ding, ding, ding... until the battery wears down. It will work for an hour, then go ding ding ding... I have to turn
it off. . I missed important messages from my kids because it drained my battery, after I left the house.

The other really irratating thing is that I get this error on trying to connect with the Zune system "Garmin is running" What application is using Garmin? I don't have a Garmin app, the map isn't running, I've turned off Location. I almost stomped
on the thing yesterday!
