  1. Setting universal defaults in File Explorer for Windows 10

I have a folder with hundreds of sub-folders, sub-sub-folders, etc. and I want every one of the folders to show "Date modified" just to the right of the file name.

So, I used View→Options→View to first reset the default. I then went to View→Grouping→Select Columns and selected the menu items I wanted to show and in what order.

These new settings are reflected in the main folder and the second level of folders, but from the third folder layer on down, the menu items are still arranged according to the old default that I tried to change. "Date modified" doesn't appear in those third-level-on-down folders even though I made the above settings.

How can I make a universal change, i.e., one that affects all levels of sub-folder?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
