  1. Setting up local control with Windows 11 on new computer

I just purchased a new laptop with Windows 11. I had no idea it would require a Microsoft Account which would then need to be accessed every time I use it. During the initial set-up, I chose the "work" option vs. "personal" option by mistake. I often travel to remote places that do not have internet access. How can I change my start-up login for local control/access? I tried to set-up another user. Problem is when you try to log in as an "other user" it asks for an email and password. When you set-up the other user, it only asks for username and password. It doesn't work! It won't accept the u

  2. Can't switch to Local account in Windows 10

    Hi

Thank you for your interest in using Windows 10.

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

    • Click on Windows button, then click on
      Settings.

    • Click on Accounts then click on
      Your account
      .

    • Click on Sign in with a local account instead.

    • Following the Online instructions.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

    • Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

    • Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.

    • Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.

  4. Setting up local control with Windows 11 on new computer

Unable to set up new computer with windows 11 work account

    Hi Jose,

I followed your suggested steps but the same thing still happens when I complete the out of the box experience setup.

By the way, the only reason the device was even in the device list was because (as a troubleshooting step) I tried creating a local account and then connecting to my work account to verify that the windows install was working properly. So I'm not surprised I still got the same result Setting up local control with Windows 11 on new computer :(
