Setting up RAID on Existing computer

I have had a Windows 10 PC operating on a single 2 TB HDD for about a year. I purchased 3 more 2 TB HDDs. I have access to a external USB hard drive that is also 2 TB. I am trying to set up RAID 1+0 on my computer. I have a TUF gaming 570x+wifi motherboard. I have been able to find tutorials about setting up RAID through the manufacture's website. My question comes into with my OS and the files I currently have on my computer. How can I convert my computer over to a RAID 1+0 set up without loosing my copy of Windows and the files that are already on my computer? Is the OS normally on a 5th

    :)

  2. Want to set up RAID 0 on existing XP installation

Thank you for your response........ It is indeed an external card. In the near future (when the pieces arrive) I will be building a workstation specifically for the application in question and will go with your recommendation to set up an internal RAID array. At any rate, I will still want my OS and applications on a dedicated HDD, seperate from this array.

In reading through the forum, it appears setting up the array on an existing XP machine is fraught with oportunities to create additional issues and until such time as the new PC exists, I think I will try this.

Again thank you for your suggestion.

  3. Setting up RAID on existing Win10 machine

I want to install a RAID on a computer for a first time. Bought the matching HDD. HDDs are 1TB

Can I set up the RAID without losing existing data or do I have to do a complete backup and reinstall of OS and software? If yes, any tips on how to do that? I do have Norton 360 with a backup utility and a 1TB external drive.

    Thanks, Gary

Setting up RAID on Existing computer

    Raid 0 help

Hi all, I've followed the IRST raid installation directions and I have created myself a Raid 0 volume. Rapid storage confirms my successful migration from a system disc to a raid 0 array. I'm also able to select it as my boot device in BIOS, but what I don't understand is why it is not listed in my Drives under my computer

In fact, my computer still lists my original C: drive with the original capacity. I feel as if I've miss an important step here and I'm unsure how to proceed.
