Windows 10: Setting up Windows 10 Storage Settings

I've been a Mac user ever since I can remember, but my fiance and I just got a new Alienware system and have Windows 10 installed. We have a terabyte of storage space on a "Data D:" drive, but for some reason, we can only get things to save into the 300 GB "OS C:" drive. I've gone into "Change where new content is saved" and selected the D drive for everything. Unfortunately, things are still saving automatically to the C drive and I can't change it.


Specifically, I've tried installing Creative Cloud apps -- I am unable to change the location these save to from the Creative Cloud program. It will only allow me to save to the C drive. However, my fiance also said his gaming programs automatically downloaded into the C drive as well.


I hope there's not something obvious I'm missing as a newbie Windows user, but part of my problem while Googling this is that I simply don't know how to communicate the problem articulately and thus, am not turning up results.

Sound card amplification settings

Yeah unfortunately ASUS and Realtek are not stepping up and fixing this it seems. Wherever I see such problems mentioned on forums some users are suggesting just uninstalling the Realtek driver and using the Windows audio driver.

 

AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
