Windows 10: Settings App '+' buttons not working

In my settings app on Windows 10 Pro any buttons which appear as a square box with a '+' in the middle are not functioning. I have verified that "Add a family member" "Add someone else to this PC" "Add an account" "Connect" in Access work or school account and "Add Bluetooth or other device" all share this issue.


When any of these buttons is clicked on or selected and the 'enter' key pressed nothing happens. It appears to me that there is nothing listening to the buttons themselves. They can be pressed, however nothing will be executed in response. Notably for the "Add Bluetooth or other device" button, my Bluetooth drivers are up to date, and I can connect other devices to my PC, however my PC cannot search for nearby devices because nothing opens when this button is pressed.

Hi Petre,

This might be caused by a software conflict. As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest resetting the app and see if it helps. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Go to Settings.
• Select System.
• On the left-panel, click Apps & features.
• Look for the app on the list then click it.
• Click the Advanced options link.
• Click the Reset button.
• If resetting did not work or not available, click the Repair
  button instead.
• Restart your PC.

If the issue still persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and see if it helps.

"All apps" Button not working - Where are links stored?


At some point my "All apps" button has stopped working. Clicking on it causes the apps list to flash very very briefly then dumps me back to home screen. Everything else seems to work OK.
Anyone know where the links in that list of apps is stored? I'm thinking one of the links is broken causing the whole list to shut down, and if I remove links from the list one by one I can find it. That's the only thing I can think to try.
Unfortunately no restore points exist and Repair tools like Startup Repair Etc. does not help.
Any other Ideas / Suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.
