Windows 10: Settings | Default Apps closes immediately

Discus and support Settings | Default Apps closes immediately in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit: when I attempt to even view default apps under settings, settings immediately closes.     Settings | Default Apps closes immediately


    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit: when I attempt to even view default apps under settings, settings immediately closes. Other aspects of settings seem to be OK. How might I fix this?

    How to set Microsoft Photos App as default

    Hello,

    We understand the issue you are facing and will assist you.

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>System.
    • In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
    • In the right pane, click on Choose default apps by file type.
    • Set the default App to open .jpg files and check for status.

    Cannot set "Calendar" as default app

    Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 Technical Preview is much appreciated.



    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check whether you are able to make the Calendar as default.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on System.
    • Select Default apps from the left pane.
    • Click on Choose default app by protocol at the bottom.
    • Select the Calendar and choose an app.

    Settings app closes immediately

    Hello,

    I'm on Windows 10 1809, and since today the app settings can no longer start! Indeed, it starts and then closes immediately.

    I did run "sfc /scannow", it found several corrupted files, but didn't solved my problem.
