Windows 10: Settings does not list printer

Using Windows 10. Printer driver installed at virtual port 3. Will not list in Settings, Devices & printers. Cannot access to read ink levels. Have tried to "add printer" but scan to find does not recognize the printer. Yet the printer does print in normal fashion from various apps.

Windows 10 Sets Last Printer Used As Default Printer

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the printer settings and check if it helps.

• In the search box, type as “settings”.
• Go to “settings” and select “devices”.
• Click on “printers and scanners” option on the left hand side.
• You will find all your printers listed on the screen, below that there is an option
  “Let Windows manage my default printer”.
• I suggest you to turn “OFF” the option “When turned on, the default printer is the last used printer”.
• Now check whether you can choose the other printers or not.

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Hi William,

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.

Printer does not work

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to make printer as a Default Printer

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key+ X and select device manager.
• Select devices and printers
  
• Right click on the printer you want to use, and then click set as default printer (You'll
  see a check mark on the printer's icon signifying that it's now your default printer)

Method 2: I also recommend you to run the Print Troubleshooter to check the issue.

• Type Troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter.
• In the left pane click on View all.
  
• Select the Printer option and follow the on screen instructions.
