  1. Settings for developers are all upside down

    Hi,

I am observing Windows 10 SETTINGS --> UPDATE & SECURITY --> FOR DEVELOPERS. There are bunch of checkbox-type settings under sections:

    • File Explorer:
Change settings to show file extensions
Change settings to show hidden and system files
Change settings to show full path in title bar
Change policy to show Run as different user in Start
Change settings to show empty drives
    • Remote Desktop
Change settings to allow remote connections to this computer
Change settings to allow connections only from computers runing Remote Desktop with NLA
Change settings so that the PC never goes to sleep when plugged in
Change settings so that the PC never hybernates when plugged in
    • Power Shell
Change execution policy to allow local PowerShell scripts to run without signing. Require signing for remote scripts.

All those are checkboxes and begin with "Change settings to...", which is very weird notation and pretty unique under all settings in Windows. Or any OS around. But this would not be a problem, if meaning of checkbox would not be just the opposite of what logic dictates.

For example, guess what this means:

"Change settings to show hidden and system files"

    • when this is CHECKED. it means "Do not show hidden files"
    • when it is left UN-CHECKED, it means "Show hidden files"

    ????

If you ask me, this should be just the opposite - checked should mean activated, and un-checked should mean not-activated. Same reverse logic applies to above mentioned 3 segments, and maybe I overlooked some more.

Am I missing something, or somebody screwed it up at Microsoft quite a bit?

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
    Memory speeds

asusCamera Upside Down After Win 10 Upgrade

    Hi Lynn,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things:

    • What is the model of the computer?
    • Which app are you suing to take camera?

You have mentioned that the camera is upside down, this could be due to some incorrect settings.

    Method 1: Check software settings.

Check the setting. Most of the software’s have settings to rotate the image. So check if any of these settings have been set to rotate the image upside down.

Method 2: Check the display driver.

If the above steps didn’t help you, I would suggest you to check the display driver as an outdated driver can cause such issues. Refer these steps:

    a) Press Windows key + X, select
    Device Manager
    .

    b) Locate you display adapter, right click on it and select properties.

    c) Click on the Driver tab and click on Update driver.

    d) Install if any updates are available.

You can also check in the manufacturer’s website to check if any updated display driver is available.

    Method 3: Check compatibility.

Since the updated driver also didn’t resolve the issue, I would suggest you to download Windows 8 display driver from the manufacturer website and install it in Windows 10 compatibility mode and check. Refer these steps:

    a) Right click the driver installation file and select
Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.

    b) Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode.

    c) Tap or click the drop down box and select Windows 8, then tap or click
    OK.

    d) Try installing the driver and check.

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.
