Windows 10: Settings freezes when I try opening Privacy & Security Windows 11

Settings freezes when I try opening Privacy & Security (Windows 11)

Hi,

I was thinking of running a malware check on my laptop running windows 11 and went to open privacy & security but every time I try to open tab in Settings my settings app would freeze and the only thing I can do is close the tab. I tried to test to see whether this was occurring with any other tab within the setting app but it seems to be only be a problem when I try open privacy & security.

This laptop is only 5 months old and primarily used for study and thus I have a lot of documents that are important so I am scared of rebooting windows.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Empty Windows Security / PC Settings freeze when clicking Windows Security in Privacy and Security

Hi, I know that that problem is a known problem but I will just go for it anyway.

So I upgrade my PC to Windows 11 yesterday and today when I want to set up Windows Defender, the Windows Security app is empty, only showing the "Home" option. My PC Settings freeze when I click Windows Security located in the "Privacy and Security" section. I tried some online research, I tried to repair and reset Windows Security, run the command "Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage" with Windows Powershell but they all failed. I'm planning to reinstall Windows 11 if none of the steps fixes the problem.

My OS: Windows 11 Professional

Hope someone will find a solution and help me fix this, and hope Microsoft will sone patch this problem.

Unable to access Privacy and Security Options in Settings

Windows 11 Privacy and Security setting is greyed out, when I click on it it tells me to go to the app store but when I search for an app it leads to a microsoft edge add. Does that mean privacy and security settings are only available in Windows 11 if I make Edge my default browser?
