  1. Settings menus don't display correctly, if at all, and crash half the time.

As of lately, my settings menus don't display correctly. Half the time settings menus just crash entirely, and when they don't, they look like this, drop down boxes are blank and don't drop down, and many other buttons and text don't display either. Because of this, I'm literally unable to make any changes to my computer's settings menus which use the newer-style windows, or even connect to new WiFi networks.

I have never seen this before, and have no idea what to do, but it's starting to irritate me. Please help if you can.

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

  3. Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:

      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.
Hope the information provided was helpful and do let us know if you need any assistance in the future. We will be glad to help.
