    hello, this Threat keeps poping up after i try and take action towards it, this is what it says i went to the path where it says the infected file is and its a file called "hosts.file" its located in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" I right clicked on the file and clicked open with notepad, and apparently its a plain text file that's used to map host names to IP addresses. this is what it says in the file "# Copyright c 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names.     List the EXACT "blah, blah" you mention, here please... for ALL installation cases!

    (Sound like a possible "DLL-Hell" issue, but "Windows File Protection" &/or "System File Protection" should have countered for this... no biggie, there's ways around that too!)

    Can't get rid of SettingsModifier:Win32/HostsFileHijack

    Anyone know how to get rid of this notification?

    I already add the host file to exclusion list, but it still warns me from time to time.
